Oh hey friends. The podcast is here. Sorry it took so long! I was going to edit it down and throw a bunch of caveats and explanations in here but I’m just gonna let it be what it is - a conversation. This isn’t the end all be all. There are parts we are still figuring out and parts we didn’t explain well and parts I wish we could dig more into and parts I wish I could take out. But you can’t curate conversations, so here we are.
If nothing else, I hope you feel a little more seen and understood and I hope it helps you see and understand.
I linked some resources for you to look through after you listen to the chat.
This concludes the growing up saved series! Thanks for sticking around!
HOW WE DE-CHURCH + BE CHURCH // featuring Zach LaValley
RESOURCES //
The Luke10 intro zoom call is a 90 minute introduction to the work Luke10 does, which is connecting with people who are in church, post church, or not sure where they fit in church. You’ll get the chance to share your story, hear other people’s stories, and learn how Luke10 might help you with the next chapter of your lives. (Zach works for luke10 and its the community that helped us heal the most when we were reeling from church hurt)

Listened to the whole thing! I share in so many of your thoughts and prayers as I endeavor to follow Christ and shepherd His church. You hit the nail on the head when you said you stopped doing everything for it's own sake and just started listening to and responding to Jesus. I think that is a core essential to being a disciple and follower of Christ. I can totally hear your hearts and see that you are not forsaking the Church, just living it out as the Lord leads. Love you guys! Loved the podcast too!
Agreed. Have you explained what bad church looks like? (I’m assuming you mean the hamster wheel mentality) Maybe you have. It might clarify a little more about what you’re NOT trying to do. I think some churches model what you’re doing. I love listening and reading your posts. Your family is adorable. I’m hoping I see you someday on some sidewalk somewhere. I’m from New England also ♥️
