oh hey friends.
We’ve come to the end of this series and I’m so thankful for the time you’ve spent with these words, ideas, and thoughts. I hope it’s helped you understand some of this things that fall outside the black and white color wheel.
I want to wrap this series up by answering some questions from the three most asked topics : church, mental health/trauma, and suffering. Instead of only answering a couple questions for this email series, I took 10 questions about each topic (out of hundreds) and answered them in a downloadable PDF ebook.
The first book, Slumped Over + Hopeful : On Church, is available to download on my website right now. It answers these questions, copy and pasted directly from the question box on instagram.
What do you think about the deconstruction debate?
How do you find a new church after you’ve been hurt? Do you ever feel safe again?
What do you do when you’ve been hurt and left church and you want to find a new church but your spouse doesn’t?
How do you rebuild your faith when you’ve been hurt by Christians?
Can you give resource recommendations when navigating doubts with the church or faith in general?
What’s your relationship with the church right now?
I’m struggling to be at church when I feel like I’m in a strange place with God. Postpartum anxiety, pandemic isolation, feeling alone and undisciplined. I don’t know how to dive back in.
how do you forgive abuse of power and hold them accountable at the same time?
do you still carry resentment? How do you move past that?
when did you know it was time to leave vs. “being emotional”
I originally planned on charging for these books, but decided a few nights ago to give this to you for free. I have a hard time charging for this kind of work. I don’t want to put anything (even if it’s just a few dollars) in the way of something that could be healing. Maybe Jesus needs to work on me about that, but until he changes my mind, all these ebooks will be available for free from my website.
Download On Church right here.
On Mental Health and On Suffering will be out later this week.
If you would like to support this part of my ministry, there are few way you can do that. Sharing about the book and linking it in your instagram stories is a huge help in getting these words into more hearts! I always get excited to see those tags!
You can also subscribe to the next level of my substack writing below. It’s $50/year or $5/month and is usually an extra email or two every week or every two weeks. When you subscribe, you can see all the posts I’ve written that haven’t been shared publicly.
Or you can send a few dollars to my Venmo here : @kristenlavalley That helps fuel the coffee that keeps these hands moving when two babies have worn me out. Which is most days. lol.
Anyway. There’s never ever any expectation or pressure to do anything but read the words I write. I love that I’m able to write, honored when you read, and thankful for the work God’s doing here.
Thanks for being a part of this series. I’m already cooking up some ideas for the next one, but if you have any ideas or things you’d like to hear from me, I’d love to know! send me email, a message on instagram, or comment here.
Hope you had a great weekend friends. Let’s chat again real soon.
Thank you for this ❤️
