it’s safe here, promise.

You won’t find a lot of hot takes or guilt, shame driven spirituality here. I write a lot of permission slips to be human because I believe that God created us human on purpose. So you’ll see a lot of words about the complexities of being human - like struggling with mental health, the affects trauma has on us, and the reality of a faith that isn’t simple, pretty, or linear.

You can breathe easy here.

I’m Kristen, if you didn’t know that already, and I live in Massachusetts with my husband, Zach, and our five kids - Jonah, Emery, Anna, Chloe and Lydia. (No, we aren’t mormon or quiverfull, we just really like being parents and also we are done creating new people.)

Things I’m Thinking About is literally that - the things I’m thinking about and those things often fall into the theme of pragmatic spiritual formation. My words are warm, safe, and readable regardless of where you are on your faith journey. In this community, you’ll find a lot of writing and exploration and a lot of questions. I’m not a “i’ll give you the answers for your life” kind of girl. I’m more of the “bearing witness and giving words to describe your own journey” type.

However you found your way here, I’m glad you did.

You can breathe easy here. I believe that God created us human on purpose and so I write about the complexities of being human and where those things intersect with faith, relationships, life, and culture. I'm glad you're here.
