My family is doing some “forced” cozy wintering right now, as our power is out and there’s a snowstorm outside. Candles lit, batteries in the kids sound machines for sleep!
C.S. Lewis book club podcast host here: I LOVE the clothing prompt, Kristen! What a beautiful idea! Would it be okay if I shared some of your C.S. Lewis wintering prompts (with permission and credit/links/etc OF COURSE) on one of my next episodes? My podcast is all around discovering the magic in our faith the way Lewis did, and these ideas are just first class magical. 😍
I think this is just a Lewis kind of week! My daughter and I watched The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on Friday. We drank from scratch hot cocoa. I journaled in my commonplace book and uncharacteristically drew a picture inspired by the story. We have a broken foundation in our yard that we be been referring to as Cair Paravel. I also told my husband that I want to buy a solar powered lamp post and I want to stick it in our woods!
You know what - after I read your comment I did a bit more research and found out that this quote has been attributed to him for decades, but it’s actually Corrie ten Boom! He’s written about this in other ways, but this is not his quote. Whoops!
Looks like part of this post cut off when I sent the email. Updated the missing pieces!

Yea go right ahead! So glad you shared! Gonna binge your podcast now!
Little bit nervous now. 😂
I went to order a London Fog today and I was introduced to the Canadian Fog ... maple syrup instead of vanilla! 😋🍁
Ooohhhhh
I love the quote at the beginning ❤️
To Anastasia: welcome back to New England! Love from NH :)
I just went to a Narnia themed tea party on Saturday and they served Turkish delight. I love that we’re all on the same vein.
Did you like it??

This was such an enjoyable piece to read on my snowy morning spot by the fire.
I love the playfulness in wintering you suggest with a C.S. Lewis theme!
I was trying to find the work or writing where that lovely quote came from but couldn’t . Do you know if he wrote that ? It’s beautiful nonetheless .

Also a returnee to Maine (after having said, “Never...”)
Winter is part of the draw--and part of the challenge!
