I love that you wrote this. I just got through a spring of meeting my childhood wounds head on. It was such hard hard work and so incredibly painful. I am on the other side of that and am so incredibly excited to see the healing and delight in my heart.

Also on a story telling note: I am tucking this away. You shared your story without brutalizing the ppl who hurt you. Well done. I hope to emulate this some day!

I just posted a comment for Kristen but your comment caught my eye......I really want to do the work of facing my childhood wounds but don't know where to start? Do you have any suggestions on what helped you the most? Thank you so much :)

Therapy. I would not recommend doing it on your own. It’s a LOT to process and you can get stuck and overwhelmed without a guide.

I promise you won’t regret it. ♥️

Thank you for your response. I will look for a therapist in my area to help me because it does seem like alot to process on my own. Blessings to you and thank you for sharing :)

I actually didn’t get a therapist in my area. I live in a pretty small town so I wasn’t sure where to even start. Someone I trust linked Faithful Counseling in their email. So my therapist is actually in a totally different state and we meet through video or phone calls. I absolutely love it cause I don’t have to leave my house and I don’t have to find a babysitter. They do have a sliding scale for payment. There are some things I don’t like about how the payment situation is but I loved the other aspects of it enough to stay with them. I highly recommend them.

I adore your heart. I'm so grateful for your healing, and your willingness to share your journey with us. I'm on a similar path, and definitely resonated with a lot of what you said. Thanks for reminding us we're not alone, and that hope and healing waits for us as we do the hard work.

Thank you for sharing ♡ I was diagnosed with ADHD (Inattentive) type in the 90s due to learning disabilities and resources my mother had. With that said, it still wasn't understood. I'm still learning. I can relate so much to this ♡

Thank you for sharing so vulnerably. Your journey of healing and being diagnosed later in life with inattentive ADHD mirrors my life and you are my inspiration to continue to fight to do the hard healing work.

love this so much. I appreciate your honesty so much. Your words speak to me.....i know that I need to work on childhood wounds but I don't know where to start? Is this something I can work through myself or do I need a professional? I wasn't able to enroll in your "story" course this time.....is this something that can help?

Wow! Thank you for writing this. My son was diagnosed in 10th grade with inattentive ADHD and when we finally got the diagnosis it was like a breath of fresh air. He is also dyslexic and school was quite the struggle even though he is so smart. He just graduated and is so happy to be working in a field he loves instead of going to school. Everything you wrote and said in your Instagram stories today is like you’re talking about him. When he was younger he would talk and talk and talk about everything real or make believe or ask questions and one day my sister asked him why he asked so many questions and his simple response was “because this is the way God made me!” 😂 he still struggles with self confidence and all the things that come along with inattentive adhd and dyslexia but he teaches me so much everyday about accepting myself as who God made me instead of trying to be someone I think I should be. Thank you for putting this out there because it will help so many parents understand their kids and what they’re going through.

WOW...everything you wrote resonated so strongly with me...now I need to go figure out if I have had inattentive ADHD my whole life because you described my childhood to a T. Honestly wouldn’t surprise me, my sister just got an adult ADHD diagnosis and I think my dad has it as well.
