This is lovely. It makes me think of the verse that says “For The One whom God sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.” That is Jesus referencing Himself, I know, but it reminds me of how the Spirit speaks FOR us and TO us, and so why can’t that mean a Taylor Swift song, a good shower cry, or my beloved Harry Potter books? (Which, to any naysayers, are just as allegorical as Narnia! I digress…)
My twenty-year-old fresh-off-Bible-school free-spirited self desperately needed this message. I’ve come so far but gosh it takes a while to shake the shame 😭 there is SO MUCH FREEDOM when we trust the Spirit in ourselves.
Honestly just becoming free from always looking over my back and feeling condemned and judged by other Christians. So thankful I was awakened to the fact that we weren’t meant to live that way. I’ve lived so much in fear my whole life and it’s a horrible way to live. Always wanting to do the right thing so bad can be very confusing and burdening. Now, I’ve realized when God does convict me I just feel thankful, not condemned. But it’s been a long road to get here and know that I don’t have to let what other people think dictate my life. I’m known by God and I don’t have to prove myself, my spirituality or morality any more... but it’s not always easy. Thank you for sharing your journey that I can completely empathize with.
I love this and I'm sad that you didn't live your whole lives like this... God created the good so we can enjoy the good! Just look at His word and you see that we are ALLOWED to enjoy the good! 😊
